Genel Ambrose is a cultural strategist, artist, and researcher.

Her work convenes artists, institutions, and communities to shape how emerging technologies engage memory, culture, and collective futures.

Genel spent six years at Apple as Head of Programming, leading strategy and execution of cultural programs, experiential campaigns and partnerships across major U.S. cities - delivering meaningful experiences that invited artists and communities to engage technology not just as consumers, but as creators.

She is the founder of GOOD MIRRORS, a cultural research studio where she builds living archives to shape how AI systems learn, co-curates national exhibitions - including WITNESS alongside Tina Knowles - and administers grants supporting emerging artists.

A first-generation Caribbean-American from New York City, Genel has earned dual bachelor degrees in Journalism and Sociology from New York University and a MFA in Creative Writing from The New School.

She is a member of New Inc, a 2024 Mozilla Alumni Grant Awardee, a 2023 Creative Change Fellow at The Laundromat Project, a 2023 AI.Assembly Resident, and a 2022 Mozilla Global Creative Media Awardee.
